London Fields Radio is a lovely little station run from the front of window of a tiny cafe (The Wilton Café) on Hackney’s Wilton Way in London. They asked me to kick off their series of mixes from local DJs, and this is what I came up with.
I wanted to put together a mix of wistful wintery music that incorporated some music made in the area. There’s a track from rising producer Alex Nagshineh, whose studio is in Netil House, and a new track I signed as my first A&R job for Glasgow Underground, which is based on Andrews Road.
Then I decided to weave in sounds from the area, so I took a stroll around E8 one chilly Saturday afternoon to see what I could find. The mix has everything from the sound of Broadway Market buskers and kids playing football on London Fields to bikes cycling down the canal and, of course, The Wilton Café.
Hope you enjoy it. Lot of effort put into this one!
